When the Atlanta Produce Dealers Association
(APDA) first sprouted into existence in 1947, its primary purpose
was two-fold-to share credit information among its members and
provide a forum where matters of general interest could be discussed
and acted upon. Over the years, those basic principals have remained
constant as their commitment to helping each other and improving
the industry has grown stronger.
The official membership organization for the area's professional
produce business leaders, APDA is located at the Atlanta State
Farmers Market and consists of wholesalers, retailers and distributors
of food and produce, as well as associates from the businesses
that work closely with them.
It is the foremost advocate and liaison for the industry and
offers a host of benefits to its members including monthly luncheons,
a scholarship program, access to insurance, and fellowship activities.
Additionally, the group is actively involved in legislative issues
which affect its members and pursues special interest community
projects such as the Forest Park Livable Centers Initiative. For

Why should I be a part of APDA?
Serving as an advocate for the local produce
industry, the Atlanta Produce Dealers Association, though not
a PAC (political action committee), is the liaison between government
officials and the issues facing our industry.
When and where do they meet?
Monthly meetings at the Atlanta State Farmers
Market Exhibit Hall Dining Room are held on the second Tuesday
at noon. The meeting includes lunch and a presentation from an
inspirational or educational speaker.
What are their goals?
Pursuit of projects that are of special interest
to our members is an ongoing goal of the APDA.
